Discuss the computer stuff you need to stay connected. | iMac VS Mac Pro | | Okay, so I have the task of getting a new desktop for school. I a wanting to get something high end, I am going to be working in Game Art and Design, so that is a must. I am also wanting a Mac because it is my OS of choice. I can see the reasons for an iMac, cheaper is one of them but the mac pro gives you more and is easier to upgrade on your own, or at least it would be for me.It doesn't matter what the cost is in the end as I don't have to pay for it myself but I am just wondering on that. Can somebody see any pluses on getting an iMac over a mac pro besides the price of it all?
| | Anyone a Mac Pro on here? | | I'm about to start working on my own illustrated book to put on a CD and need some advice. I write poetry and I want to illustrate them in Appleworks and make each page a JPG file but I want to incorporate it in a book style so that it reads one page after the other. I was thinking about either pulling them into sort of a Power Point Presentation or importing them into Word if possible.I'm more familiar with designing in Appleworks but I do have Photoshop and Illustrator. I haven't really learned how to do a lot in either of them, though and I'm not sure if they would help anyway.I want it to sort of be like a book of picture files, if you know what I mean. Since I'm going to be using a lot of graphics for this, I just think it would be easier to do it in Appleworks but I'm not sure how to link them together to read as a book on a CD.If anyone understands what I'm talking about and can help, please let me know.Thanks... | |

| | Mac or PC | | I know this is a discussion, thats been out there for a long time, but I still wanted to ask my self. Which do you prefer, and WHY. Mac or PC?Personally, I still am going for PC, because theres more commonly used programs for it, and in my opinion, its still easier to use. Please tell me which you prefer, and WHY?In the future, I might just switch to MAC, or maybe stay with PC. | |
| | | I want a reliable, fast and good for value computer, can anyone suggest some? | | I have been thinking of a good computer that will last long, is good for gaming, runs fast and looks great. My friends have suggested me either alienware, mac pro, or just a dell computer.
Alienware looks incredible, sounds incredible and looks like a very good computer for gaming and is quite reliable. But when i went to check the reviews of Alienware computers, there were some bad comments about the fact the Alienware is really expensive and not worth the price and that their customer service isn't great.
I don't personally like the setting ot of mac pros, but they sound and look good aswell.
Dell computers don't interest me too much, they don't seem like a brand that would stand out to have really good computers. Can anyone suggest me which computer i should get, or what other computers i could get? thanks guys!

| | Which mac user are you? | | Mac users, I would like to ask a question. What type of mac do you use. An iMac? A Macbook Pro? The Macbook Air? Or maybe the Mac Pro? I use an iMac primarily because Macs are the next generation computers and the iMac has everything from speakers to a built-in iSight, and it's all within the screen. The best thing about it is that there's no bulky, space-consuming CPU. Macs don't get viruses or the problems that you would expect on a Windows Platform. Furthermore, a Mac is not a Windows computer and a Windows computer is not a Mac. | |
